Abstract

Introduction: Nausea and vomiting are common complaints and are often experienced by pregnant women, the prevalence reaches 70-85% of all pregnancies. Treatment of nausea and vomiting can be done pharmacologically or non-pharmacologically. Some of the non-pharmacological therapies used include the use of food ingredients such as ginger, mint leaves, lime, lemongrass, lemon, peppermint, P6 point acupressure, acupuncture, and dietary modification. Mother's knowledge about pregnancy care and natural therapy for nausea and vomiting is influenced by various factors including social determinants including education level and maternal employment. Objective: This study aims to analyze the relationship between education level factors and the employment status of pregnant women regarding the natural therapy of nausea and vomiting. Methods: This study used a correlation quantitative design with a cross sectional approach. The research was conducted online using Google Form as a research instrument. The population in this study is all subjects that are in accordance with the characteristics of the study. The research sample was pregnant women who were willing to become respondents, experienced vomiting, and filled out a questionnaire complete with 26 respondents. Conclusion: The test results found that there was a relationship between the mother's education level and knowledge of natural therapy for nausea and vomiting in pregnancy with a p-value of 0.036. There was no association between maternal employment status and knowledge of natural therapy of nausea and vomiting in pregnancy with a p-value of 0.564.
